Content & Curation Policy

Matriarchy Now exists to help people discover ideas, voices, resources, and conversations related to feminism, matriarchy, gender roles, and creating a more equitable world.

Part of that work involves curating and linking to articles published by writers, independent publications, organizations, and other creators across the web.

How We Curate Content

Matriarchy Now may use publicly available RSS feeds and other public sources to discover and feature content relevant to our community.

When we feature an article from another publication, our goal is discovery, not republication.

Whenever possible, curated articles include:

  • The article title
  • The name of the original publication or creator
  • A short excerpt, summary, or description
  • A link to the original article

Clicking through a curated article takes readers to the original publisher’s website, where they can read the work in its original context and directly support the creator.

We do not claim ownership of content created by others.

Images and Other Media

Images, artwork, video, and other media remain the property of their respective creators and rights holders.

When third-party media accompanies a curated article, it is used to help identify or represent the linked work. We aim to use media supplied through the publisher’s public feed or otherwise made available in connection with the original article.

If you are a rights holder and would prefer that your image or other media not appear on Matriarchy Now, please contact us and we will review or remove it.

Supporting Creators

Matriarchy Now is intended to send attention outward, not capture it.

We want readers to discover writers and organizations they might not otherwise encounter. Whenever practical, we send readers directly to the original source rather than reproducing an entire work on Matriarchy Now.

Being featured does not imply that a creator, publication, or organization endorses Matriarchy Now—or that Matriarchy Now necessarily endorses every opinion expressed in the content we link to.

Editorial Curation

Matriarchy Now is a curated space, not a neutral index of everything published online.

We choose sources and content based on their relevance to the project’s purpose and community. Inclusion, prominence, or removal of content is ultimately an editorial decision.

We may decline to feature or may remove material that we believe is misleading, abusive, discriminatory, exploitative, substantially inconsistent with the purpose of the project, or otherwise inappropriate for the community we’re building.

For Writers, Publishers, and Creators

We want Matriarchy Now to be good for the people whose work we share.

If we’ve linked to your work, we’d love for you to consider it an invitation into the community.

If you’d like us to update how your publication or work is represented, correct attribution, change the source information we use, or stop featuring your content entirely, contact us.

We will make reasonable efforts to honor requests from creators and rights holders.

Likewise, if you publish work that you think belongs in the Matriarchy Now collection, we’d love to hear about it.

Corrections

We care about accurate attribution and responsible curation.

If something has been incorrectly attributed, linked, summarized, or represented, please contact us so we can review and correct it.
